'Be alert, not alarmed'...unfortunately our Australian population is quite alarmed. Thus why you cannot deploy a nuanced and tailored response in so many polities.
I also asked former Deputy Lord Mayor Arron Wood AM why governments are ramping up fear in Commonwealth countries. His response - 'it's much easier to have control' and with 'complex multi-layered problems' governments prefer to have 'everyone just to do what we say...don't ask us about nuanced approaches'.
