Reflections on Eric Kaufmann's book 'Whiteshift: populism, immigration and the future of white majorities'. In this book Kaufmann argues that in the face of white demographic decline, mixed race people will be reconstituted as white, allowing the west to maintain a white ethnocultural tradition. In response, I argue that this process of reconstituting whiteness, termed here as 'whiteshift', is neither likely nor desirable.
