Today’s Christianity is based largely on a few carefully selected New Testament passages that are twisted to make them appear to teach a “soft Christianity”—a costless “faith” with no works and indifferent to clear biblical teachings on morality. So, “getting saved” is typically based on a fleeting emotional experience where the new “believer”—who doesn’t understand what it means to “count the cost” (Luke 14:28)—is lured in with a popularized feel-good-about-yourself “Jesus.”
