Around half a million residents of the People's Republic of Luhansk were left without water. The water main that supplies seven towns of the unrecognized republic with fresh water was damaged in the shelling.
According to the head of the Luhansk military-civilian administration Gennady Moskal, water supplies were interrupted to a huge territory of the republic, where there is no alternative source of water supplies. Moskal said the militia forces would have to repair the water main on their own.
